Design & Engineering
LERIAS Design & Engineering brings over 40 years of experience in the design and construction of buildings across Greece. Today, our work focuses on the Dodecanese, particularly Rhodes and Symi, and includes private buildings and public projects such as schools, libraries and shared community spaces.
We established the practice to create thoughtful, practical architecture for the people of local communities. Over the years, our work has developed through collaboration with professionals who bring different skills and perspectives to each project.
Our aim is to build on the architectural character and traditions of each place, with respect for the community and its ways of life. Local architecture informs our decisions about scale, materials and construction, while each project responds to the needs of the people who will use it.
We work closely with you throughout the process, from the initial concept and architectural and structural design to planning approvals and construction. Bringing these stages together allows us to carry the thinking behind a project through to its execution.
Our Team
Ioannis Lerias
Civil Engineer
Ioannis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1978 and began his career restoring buildings damaged by earthquakes. He later worked with Doxiadis Associates on international projects before moving to Rhodes in 1986.
His experience spans structural engineering, construction and major public projects. Since 1990, his work has encompassed private and public buildings, bringing technical knowledge and practical construction experience to the practice.
Konstantinos Lerias
Architect
Born and raised in Rhodes, Konstantinos moved to the UK in 2010 to study architecture and graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2016. Since then, he has worked at LERIAS Design & Engineering on residential and commercial projects.
His interests include sustainable design, urban planning and participatory design—exploring how people can help shape the spaces they use. His work considers both the needs of individual clients and the wider relationship between architecture, community and place.
